Catalog design for Portland State University’s BFA class of 2020.

The exhibit’s title is named for the studio workspace where this cohort developed much of their work as a group of emerging artists prior to the pandemic. The catalog design centered around interviews between small groups of artists— facilitated by Portland curator Ashley Stull Meyers. Within the catalog, the interviews preceded color-coded sections which presented each student’s work within the context of the group and the larger graduating class. The continuous use of warm tones provides unity throughout and references a common theme found in all of the student’s work. A gradient was then used to unite all of the colors on the cover and in promotional materials for the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
